How to compute the quantity of tiles needed for cladding

In this construction video tutorial, you will learn how to calculate quantity of tiles required for wall / cladding / dado.

Room perimeter = 5 m + 6 m + 2 m + 3 m + 3 m = 22 m

Height = 2.4 m

Area = 22 m x 2.4 m = 52.8 m2

Door area = 1 m x 2.4 m = 2.4 m2

Window area = 1.2 m x 1.2 m = 1.44 m2

Total area = 48.96 m2

This is the area wherein tiles will be utilized for cladding.

1 tile area = 0.3 m x 0.3 m = 0.09 m2

Number of tiles needed = 48.96/0.09 = 544

Wastage = 5 percent

Quantity of tiles comprising wastage = 544 + (5/100 x 544) = 572 numbers
