How to design L Type Stair

The stair in L shape is known as L type stair. The angle is 900. Landing is offered. Support of two walls is needed [ground level and first floor level]. Height is required [from plinth level to first floor]. Riser is needed.

Riser dimension maximum = 7” (inch)
Riser dimension minimum = 4” (inch)
Tread dimension maximum = 12” (inch)
Tread dimension minimum = 10” (inch)

Assumed Landing = 3’ 3”
Assumed tread = 10”
Assumed riser = 7”

Height is equal to 10’ 6” is equal to 10.5 feet
Riser is equal to 7”/12 is equal to 0.5833 feet [1 feet = 12 inches]
Tread is equal to 10”/12 is equal to 0.8333 feet
Number of steps is equal to Height/Riser = 10.5/0.5833 = 18 number of steps
Landing length is equal to 3’ 3” is equal to 3.25 ft

Breadth is equal to 3’ 3” = 3.25 ft
Stair length is equal to Total steps - 1 = 18 - 1 = 17
Overall treads = 17 – Landing = 16
Overall tread length = 16 x 0.8333 [one tread dimension] = 13.3328 ft
Landing is included = Tread length + Landing length + breadth = 13.3328 + 3.25 + 3.25 = Overall length of stair = 19.8328 ft
